The instructors
Adam Brown
BScPT, Physiotherapist and Researcher

Adam is the clinical lead at Cornerstone Physiotherapy and is a Clinical Research Coordinator with the University Health Network (UHN) investigating Long COVID rehabilitation. 20 years of clinical experience combined with a masters of clinical science and a passion for incorporating new and innovative ways to help patients, Adam has been developing Cornerstone Physiotherapy's Long COVID program since May 2020. He has a particular interest in the science of recovery and investigating how clinicians can use data from wearables to guide patients.


Jennifer Hulme
MDCM, CCFP-EM, MPH, Emergency Physician at UHN, Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto

Jennifer Hulme (MDCM, CCFP-EM, MPH) is an emergency physician at the University Health Network and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. She specializes in health systems and operations research, bringing proven interventions to scale and strengthening public-sector health systems to improve health equity. The first ten years of her career were spent working to improve quality and access to primary care in Mexico, India, Bangladesh and Timor-Leste, focused on reproductive, maternal and child health. More recently she co-led an operations research study of the scale-up of misoprostol for the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage in Mozambique. Now, Dr. Hulme leads a research, education and advocacy program aimed at addressing health disparities, with a focus on the burden of inequity seen in the emergency department. She co-chairs the Health Equity Committee of the Global Health Emergency Medicine group which brings together health professionals seeking solutions to improve outcomes for marginalized communities.


Samantha Sheehan
Registered Occupational Therapist, Psychotherapy Practitioner

Sam has worked with people from all walks of life and she loves the diversity of experience and relationships that her job brings. She has eleven years of experience and worked in acute care medicine at several hospitals before working for six years at a community health center. Although Sam has worked with a variety of different patients over the years (acute care, geriatric pediatric), Sam has for the past three years specifically focused on supporting clients with psychological conditions including mild to moderate Anxiety and Depression, ADHD etc. Sam developed the Long COVID program at the Four Villages CHC and continues to provide one on one and group Occupational Therapy, Psychotherapy at Cornerstone Physiotherapy with the Virtual Long COVID program. Sam blends a scientific approach with a client centered and creative philosophy. She is focused on returning people to the activities in their life that bring them meaning ( ADLs, IADLS, Work) and activities that make them feel like a whole person ( leisure, fitness, social). Her approach to therapy is warm, client centered, trauma informed, compassionate, engaging and fun.

Sam earned her Bachelor of Kinesiology from York University in Toronto and a Master’s of Occupational Therapy from Curtin University in Perth. Sam has professional certifications in CBT, 1 &2, Mindfulness, Accept and Commitment Therapy and the Montreal Cognitive Status.
